If you are an online banking customer of Wachovia you can now Request Stop Payment on a Cheque by just accessing you account online. To Request Stop Payment on a Cheque online you need to open the website of Wachovia and log into the online banking services using your User ID and password. Once you have logged in to your account you can go to my account page and click on stop payment (checks) from the customer service box. You can find the customer service box located on the right hand side of the page.
Clicking on the stop payment(checks) will take you to the stop payment page. Once you get to the stop payment page just select an account. You will also have to state the reason for stopping payment. All these can be selected from a list. You need to select the check number for which you want to Request Stop Payment on a Cheque. If you want to stop payment for a number of checks you can give the check numbers as from and to numbers. You can also furnish some additional information to stop payment on the checks. Then you have to click on submit button. The process to Request Stop Payment on a Cheque will be completed within a few minutes this way.
If you have selected the wrong check in this process of Requesting and have not clicked on the submit button you can cancel it by clicking on th cancel button. But in this case that you have already clicked on the submit button you can still cancel the Request Stop Payment on a Cheque by calling up the bank for further assistance.
