You can Request Stop Payment on a Cheque online or by phone by following the steps given below:-
- You can either click on the Request a Stop Payment option on the website of Wells Fargo.
- Or You can select the Stop Payment on a Check link on the Account Services page if you are already signed on
- Or call the Wells Fargo bank on 1-800-869-3557 .You will have to provide some information like the cheque number, the amount of the cheque, the date the cheque was written, and the payee name.
The stop payment will remain in effect for six months. You will be charged a fee for the Request Stop Payment on a Cheque. For fee information for your account, please refer to your Consumer Account Fee and Information Schedule. There is no fee for placing Request Stop Payment on a Cheque that is lost or stolen blank cheques.
